How to Choose the Perfect Tiara
A sparkling tiara is a dramatic and glamorous accessory to wear with your bridal outfit. You should purchase your wedding dress before choosing a tiara to wear with it. While it can seem like an overwhelming task to select the perfect tiara, it’s easier to do if you follow a few basic guidelines. The shape of your face is one of the most important considerations when choosing a tiara. To make a round face appear longer, select a tiara that has a peak or some height. Headband style tiaras with very little height complement both oval and long face shapes. A tiara that has a V shaped peak helps to elongate a full face shape. To achieve a balanced look with your wedding dress, select a tiara that matches the pattern or detailing of your gown. For example, a plain wedding gown suits a straight or geometric pattern tiara, and a bridal gown detailed with floral embroidery works with a floral pattern tiara. You can also match the type of beading on your gown with the type of beading on your tiara. For example, select a tiara with pearl beading in the same color as the pearl beading on your gown, or one with rhinestones if your gown is detailed with these. Tiaras with a filigree shape, or headband tiaras that do not require a lot of pinning to hold in place, work best with short hair styles. A bridal updo or a long hair style will complement a heavier or more elaborate tiara headpiece. Select either a silver color, white pearl, or rhinestone detailed tiara to wear with a white wedding gown. An ivory or off white color dress can be matched with an ivory pearl, or gold color tiara. Choose either a soft gold or silver color tiara to wear with a diamond white bridal gown.
